The ADA compliant studio space has been designed with feedback from professional Alaskan artists at various stages in their careers. Art gallery owners, directors and retail space managers from Anchorage, Fairbanks and Homer have also provided feedback in the design for the purpose of Sparc. Social and human services industry professionals provided insight on equipment and standards to best support each participant’s success across the spectrum of individualized needs. The space was not only designed with the studio user’s ergonomics in mind, but also the staff provider’s ergonomics and safety. Safety while supporting the participants, as well as when materials are in use, is of the utmost importance. The work-flow of the space is designed to be functional and modular, with the ability to change layout and flow.
